Welcome To Courage For Today!!

Courage For Today is dedicated to the memories and stories I have of yesterday, as well as those that will be lived out today and tomorrow.  My goal is to share my Daily walk with Christ in a unique way, by using personal experiences, so that others might develop a deeper relationship with HIM.  My prayer is that Courage For Today will be your primary destination for today's Christian Resources.

The Puzzle of Faith

 And without Faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek him.  Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

I don't know about you, but Faith is one of those concepts that has always been hard for me to grasp.  Not only that, but I would just get downright mad at others who would sometimes just tell me to "have faith."  I already knew that I should have faith, but I spent many years wondering how?  I wanted someone to tell me how.  These well-meaning friends that were telling me to "just have faith" didn't ever tell me HOW to have Faith or what exactly to do.  I know there isn't some magic formula, but there had to be something to grab on to.  It was just an abstract concept to me and I struggled with how to attach some "meat" or a real meaning to this thing we call Faith.

Behold, New Things Have Come

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

It's late October and getting close to Halloween time again.  I was thinking the other day about a particular Halloween a couple of years ago.  Our grandkids were 5 and 4 years old at the time and had been living overseas with my daughter for some time.  This was their first Halloween that they were really old enough to remember or participate in and they were so excited.  We tried to explain how they were going to get to select a costume for themselves and dress-up like their favorite character.  I'm not sure they really understood what we were saying, but they were excited nonetheless.
